Programs

Delta Torch

At our founding on the campus at Howard University, in 1913, by 22 undergraduate women, the goal was to establish this sorority as a public service organization.

Our mission:  To confront the social problems facing African Americans and, hence, to address those that affect all Americans.

Detroit Deltas conduct a wide range of programs to address education, health, international development, and the strengthening of the African American family. This includes work in metro Detroit homeless shelters; mentoring youth; the construction and operation of Delta Manor, a residential facility for seniors; financial literacy and home buying seminars; healthy living events; political awareness forums and more.
